A Brief Life Story About Me

My name is Danny Nicholas. I was born on July 18th/1986 in Chatham, Ontario, Canada. As a child I enjoyed imitating TV villains such as the Penguin, Joker, Godzilla, Rita Repulsa (sorceress off of Mighty Morphin Power Rangers)a flesh- eating zombie, and many others.

Ever since I was about 8 years old I was always fascinated with horror characters whether they were superhero enemies, b-movie monsters or real-life murderers such as Jack the Ripper, Lizzie Borden, Albert Fish, and Ed Gein.

As a hobby, I wrote dark short-stories (sometimes with EC comics style gore) and a few made-up monster poems. I sold a few of them to friends and family. I use to love scaring my brother Sean and my half sisters Breanne, Amber, and Cora with them! Not surprisingly, I used the money to buy action figures of Batman Villains or Godzilla monsters!

I was 11 years old when I saw my actual first horror movie. It was Stephen King’s novel to film Christine. Then I started watching the Friday the 13th franchise and the Nightmare on Elm Street franchise. I also read many Stephen King novels.

Once I was about 14 years old, I became interested in silent-horror films and just plain black and white horror films. I read several books and website articles about Lon Chaney Sr., Lon Chaney Jr., Boris Karloff, Bela Lugosi, and grade z horror actor Tor Johnson.

Currently, I live in an apartment above a Dress Shop. At night when the wind blows you can hear the hallway door downstairs fling open and creak loudly. I like to imagine that it is one of those escaped urban legend madmen coming up the stairs to terrify me!

All in all, I enjoy a good scare. My writing influences come from Edgar Allan Poe, H.P Lovecraft, Stephen King and Sir Arthur Conan Doyle.

In my opinion the best horror movie directors are Edward D. Wood Jr., Roger Corman, George Romero, and Dario Argento.
