WASTELAND News from Cinema Wasteland: August has arrived, and with it comes the last month you can order passes to the 20th Cinema Wasteland Show and save some seriously nice cash over at-the-door prices. Between now and September 2nd, $35 will get you a 3-Day VIP Pass, which just happens to be the cheapest 3-Day Pass price out of every major horror convention running today. And unlike other cons who like to charge more for absolutely nothing, all Cinema Wasteland 3-Day Pass holders get in at 4:30pm on Friday, a full half an hour earlier than single day ticket holders. It’s just our way of saying thanks to everyone who helps pay the show bills as they arrive by ordering their passes in advance. Tickets can be ordered on our web site, by mail (postmarked before 9/2/11), by calling the office during regular office hours. It’s looking like another great time for everyone attending, so don’t delay and order your passes today! In Guest News, we have nothing bad to report. We’re starting to line up flights and travel for all of our guests and everyone is looking forward to having themselves a great time right along with you attending fans. VANESSA DEL RIO was able to arrange her schedule and will now be appearing all three days of the show and not just on Friday and Saturday as originally announced. She will also have both the hardback edition, as well as the trade paperback edition of her book, VANESSA DEL RIO: 50 YEARS OF SLUTTY BEHAVIOR, on sale at the show. This thing is packed with full color photos that span her entire career, so it’s hard to pass up if you ask us. If you’d like to reserve a copy in advance of the show and help Vanesa figure out just how many books she should ship to the show hotel, I’ll bet you can go to her Facebook page and do just that. If you’re into the golden age of adult entertainment, author Eric Danville will also have the 10th Anniversary edition of his book, THE COMPLETE LINDA LOVELACE, available at the show. With the film version, LOVELACE, currently in pre-production, the new edition is designed as a tie-in to the film. You’ll find Eric taking up a little space at 42nd Street Pete’s tables, so pop on over and grab yourself an autographed copy long before the film hits theaters. Once again, we will have a good 60 plus hours worth of programming to present to every attending fan walking through the door. We will be posting more and more Films and Events on the site as the month goes on, but here are a few things you can look forward to over the course of the weekend: On Friday night, we’ll screen the first two BASKET CASE movies and have the cast and crew members who worked on the BC Trilogy out for a panel after we shut down the Vendor and Guest Room for the night. In addition to our popular FRIDAY NIGHT SHORT FILM BLOCK, long time CW horror host regular, Gunga Jim, will be presenting THE LEGEND OF BOGGY CREEK as part of a live edition of his Gunga’s Drive-In Show. If there are two words we don’t know the meaning of here at CW, those words would be “politically correct.” We also love cartoons. To highlight this fact we will be presenting a full hour of classic cartoons on Saturday morning. And not just any classic cartoons mind you, but those great 30’s and 40’s cartoons that were “banned” from television many moons ago by uptight douche bags who really need to find a life of their own and stay out of everyone else's. If you’re offended by harmless and funny cartoons like Bob Clampett’s Coal Black and The Sebben Dwarfs (1943), then sleep in on Saturday morning and don’t watch them. The rest of us will be laughing at the harmless cartoon fun. Also on Saturday, we’ll be screening Frank Henenlotter’s other films: BRAIN DAMAGE, FRANKENHOOKER, and BAD BIOLOGY throughout the day or evening and hold a panel with the remaining cast and crew members after a screening of FRANKENHOOKER. Yes, there will be a couple cross over guests on both Henenlotter Film panels, and I expect both of them to be packed tight. Grab a seat early and get ready for some seriously funny stories I’m sure. 42nd Street Pete’s Grindhouse panel on Saturday will feature both Vanessa Del Rio and Ginger Lynn. Eric Danville, author of The Complete Linda Lovelace and former editor of Screw Magazine, will be joining Pete to help co-host the panel. There’s another hour you’re not going to want to miss! A. Ghastlee Ghoul is celebrating the 10th Anniversary of A GHASTLEE NITE AT THE MOVIES live show on Saturday night with plenty of interactive games and giveaways lined up. Don’t mention it’s been ten years since we started GHASTLEE NITE or offer up any sorts of congratulations to Ghastlee come show time, or he may get really drunk before 8:00pm and have a crummy show. LOL! OK, that’s a little sneak peek at what we’ve got planned for the upcoming show. We’ve still got plenty of Movies and other assorted stuff to cram into the weekend, so hang on for a few more weeks and we’ll have the entire weekend schedule of events posted early in September so you can all plot your weekends before show time.
