R.I.P. It Up!
“First of all it was March, a rare month for Horror Hosts…”
2010 is the year of the Horror Host. The Dark Carnival Film Festival and Horrorhound Weekend presents for your approval the most hosts outside of an epidemic! This March, Horror Hosts from all over the world will converge upon Indianapolis, Indiana to pay homage to the first of their kind.
The Dark Carnival and Horrorhound Weekend are proud to premiere a one of a kind memorial tribute created by horror hosts in honor of the Goddess of Horror Hosting… Vampira! This event promises to be one Mad Monster Party, celebrating the life and work of Maila Nurmi and the legacy she leaves behind. In attendance will be horror hosts from all over the globe, paying their respects, talking about their experiences and the ways in which Vampira altered the course of television history. Don’t miss your opportunity to be a part of this once in a lifetime event!

VAMPIRA SPOOKSMODEL CONTEST
Pour yourself into that little black dress and slink onto the stage for the
chance to be Dark Queen of Horrorhound Weekend in Indianapolis, Indiana …
March 2010! Judged by the attending horror hosts, the winner will represent
Vampira throughout the weekend for each related event. Contestants will be
determined by resemblance to the Goddess, saunter and scream! Send preliminary

AMERICAN SCARY
Michael Monahan will be screening his film American Scary, the most comprehensive
Horror Host documentary to date. Following the film, Dr. Goulfinger (Monahan)
will be speaking on his experiences in filmmaking and share his vast knowledge
on the history of Horror Hosting. Goulfinger will be joined by a panel of
other monstrous hosts to discuss the future of this unusual art form.
DO THE MONSTER MASS!
A mad monster party for Horror Hosts and V.I.P.s only! Blood and wine will
be on hand as a cavalcade of creatures gather for a private tribute to the
Queen of the late night airwaves. Hosts will have the chance to emerge from
a recreation of Vampira’s set and do their damnedest to match her soul
curdling scream! The evening culminates with the crowning of the Dark Queen
of Horrorhound Weekend.
LONG LIVE VAMPIRA!
The theatre darkens and the screen alights. An image of a creepy, cobwebbed
hallway comes softly into focus as a dark and distinctly feminine figure glides
into the frame. All is silent until… AAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAH!
The Horror Host tribute to Vampira will be a once in a lifetime monster spooktacular you’ll have to see to believe! With never before seen footage, a host of magical items owned by the woman herself and a candlelight procession of her creaturely compatriots, it may just be the strangest thing you’ll ever see!
